JAZZ BAND

I am submitting for the Sound Recording Technology Non-Performance Track.

Here are a couple of recordings from Chicago Waldorf School’s Jazz Performance in 2023. I am playing the keyboard on the far left of the screen using a Rhodes keyboard preset (not to be confused with our second pianist!)

I joined Jazz Club for the first time in my Senior Year, and although I was self-taught on the keyboard, I had no prior understanding of the fundamental elements of jazz. One of my biggest challenges was learning how to play the complex chords. Despite my lack of formal knowledge, I learned enough to play and even improvise solos. I felt confident enough playing on stage with others who had been learning their instrument years before I had.
